Americana Hotel
1400 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Arlington, Accokeek,
Spending the day touring the DC sites our family was looking for a nice, clean, safe, economical, no frills place to stay at night. The Americana was exactly that. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. We arrived on a Sunday morning at 930am and I asked if we could leave our auto in the parking lot until the 3pm check in and the friendly clerk checked us into our room immediately since one was available. The metro station was a 3-5 minute walk but the hotel shuttle was available as well as for rides to nearby restaurants. The room was super clean. The continental breakfast had a huge variety of items. The beds were a little hard but coming home at night tired after touring all day we would crash and didnt even notice it that much. For the price as well as the free parking the Americana was a great deal. If you like fancy rooms and swimming pools and room service it might not be for you but if you just want a nice place to stay at night the Americana is most certainly the place. I would stay there every time.

Arlington Court Hotel
1200 N Court House Rd, Arlington, Accokeek,
We found this hotel to be extremely nice. The rooms are comfortably large with a mini-kitchen. This came in handy for refrigerating our water, soft drinks or etc. purchased from a nearby store You can brew your own coffee (provided daily with the cleaning) and read the complimentary newspaper before while getting ready to enjoy the "continental" breakfast. Breakfast was actually a filling buffe as were the dinners served the first three nights of the week. The ARC is located very near the Metro which is a great means of transportation to all of the sites in DC and Virginia. Any reviews prior to 2007 can be ignored as this hotel has had the entire interior renovated from the updated HVAC system, plumbing and southwestern motiff decorating. We lucked out with this hidden gem which recently re-opened under the new ownership. Pam Dougan

George Washington University Inn

There was not one single thing I did not like about the GWU Inn. The staff was incredibly pleasant and when I asked for a room with a view, the manager upgraded my room to a suite without charge! The parking spaces are limited, but the valet walked me to a parking space on the street and assured me of the safety of the vehicle. Last but certaintly not least, the suite feature a westin heavenly bed and the bed is appropriately named. It was the best sleep I've had in years and when I returned home, I ended up ordering the heavenly bed set. Kudos to the GWU, you made my memorial day weekend 2007 absolutely incredible!

Holiday Inn Rosslyn @ Key Bridge

I liked the hotel and breakfast at the hotel, but I disliked how they billed me twice for the room and took a couple of weeks to clear it up when I brought it to their attention. The finance person seemed to never be in the office during regular hours and I had to keep leaving messages. It finally did get cleared up.
